Tulip Garden 7883
Unnamed artist for Nordiska, 1963
Originally a small cushion (circa 30x32 cm), Tulip 7883 is a fun pattern to embroider with a mix of seven simple stitches.
In this kit you will receive a printed sheet of beautiful linen, ca 100cm x 50 cm which you can fold and sew into a cushion cover of 45 x 45 cm. If you prefer a panel to stitch, you can cut off the extra fabric and use it for a different project with the remaining threads from this kit.
We have not found a sheet of the original colour and stitch chart, but you can follow the shades of light and dark and see the stitches on the original drawing.
We will also include a stitch card with 24 common stitches of 60's linen embroidery, and a little note about the origins of the Tulip design.
For The Knitting and Stitching Show we have made 15 special edition kits with boxed linen threads in 14 shades, three chenille needles on a vintage paper cut, and an extra 14m linen on a thread card.
The card shows the pattern drawing made prior to production of the kits.
The stitches used are:
stem stitch - chain stitch - satin stitch - lazy daisy stitch
y-stitch - split stitch - couching stitch
