The Swedish embroidery company Nordiska/Niab was founded in 1879 and continued to design patterns for over 100 years. Their archive was recently unearthed to reveal thousands of embroidery patterns for all seasons.
Ingrid’s Tree was originally printed on green linen fabric and it was intended that it would be made into a wall hanging or cushion. Here we have chosen a part of the design for who someone would like to try a small design before embarking on a larger project.
The linen fabric has been screen printed in Sweden not far from the archive.
The card shows part of the original kit instructions, and part of the original pattern drawings made prior to production of the kits.
The stitches used are stem stitch and satin stitch.
