Name: Bird/Bag 6412
Designer: Unknown for Nordiska, 1960's
Original: Mustard, green, white, turqoise linen
Original size: 12.5 cm x 10.5 cm bag.
The contemporary kit includes a panel of 100% linen, ca 25 x 40 cm, enough fabric to make the rounded original bag shape, but also a little extra if you'd like to make a larger project bag or case. The bird print is on the lower end of the fabric, to allow enough backing material.
A stitch card with 24 or the most common linen embroidery stitches will be included, and a card with the original drawing and a brief history of the pattern origins.
The original stitch instructions have been lost to time, therefore you will need to decide where to add your stitches using the drawing colour as a guide where to add light and darker shades.
The stitches used in this kit is: satin-, stem-, y-stitch and French knots.
The individual listings here are for kits with or without threads/needles, and all includes both of the cards.
This is our second run of Bird 6412, previously it was printed on a smaller sized fabric, and to a corner end. This low centered print and cut opens up to more ideas of what to create.
The last picture shows a bird stitched up with improvised stitches, kit #502 is nearest in colours. The Mustard and Woodland has a thread combination nearest to the original 1960's shades.
