Collection: 25/4 hemstitch linen - rare 1960's 4-stranded linen thread

25/4 Hemstitch linen: this thread is 4-stranded which means you can separate it into 4 fine strands (40 meter) or use singly (10m) 

In the 1960's  when this thread was produced, it was common to mix one or three strands of this thread together with the regular linen embroidery thread in embroidery designs, it helped create interesting textures.  Popular with bookbinders and embroiderers, this versatile thread has not been produced since the 1960's and cannot be found easily anymore. 

We still have over 60 colours in stock at this moment, some only 3 skeins, some over a hundred per colour. There are two brands of this thread: Nordiska and Linblomman, equal in quality, Nordiska's thread being slightly softer.

All orders of 20 skeins will be packed in an original 1960's linen thread box.
